#WeAreInThisTogether: A Guide To Keep Your Community Going

Across the world, headlines have been dominated by news of novel coronavirus (Covid-19), which causes flu-like and respiratory symptoms and can be transmitted from person to person, with fatal outcomes for some. Yet in some ways, there’s a chance to find clarity in this chaos while realising a positive effect of #WeAreInThisTogether in communities that intersect society in every possible way. It gives you a new and massive energy shift in reviewing your own self as you get more focused on the needs of others and how helpful you can be. ⁣⁣

There are measures you can take to help yourself and your neighbours. From donating money to simply staying indoors, here, BAZAAR put together a guide to keep your community going.⁣⁣

⁣⁣⁣

1. If you are able and have at-risk neighbours, including older adults and those with severe chronic illnesses, check in to see if you can assist by doing things like grocery shopping for them or just offering support.⁣⁣

⁣⁣

2. Donate whenever you can, it can literally save lives. Malaysia's new Perikatan Nasional government has launched a special fund “Tabung Covid-19” to provide financial aid to those affected by the coronavirus outbreak in the country. According to The Straits Times Asia, the fund is aimed to help patients who had been put under a “14-day quarantine” but were not holding any jobs. ⁣⁣

⁣⁣

3. Stay grounded, it is one of the simplest ways to be supportive this time around. If you must go outside, try to maintain a distance of at least six feet from other people. If you are sick, it's doubly important to stay home, wear a mask, be vigilant with maintaining good hygiene, and avoid contact with others as much as possible.⁣
