Reed Krakoff is crossing his T’s as only Tiffany And Co chief artistic officer can, while bringing in a fresh outlook and building on the brand’s storied 183-year history (cue references to ‘Breakfast at Tiffany's’ and New York City doyennes dripping in gems). His latest T1 collection re-envisions the goings mimetic of a 1980's T motif—a brand hallmark that’s first introduced by the house’s design director emeritus, John Loring.
Crafted in 18k rose gold—the pieces all pack architectural punch, evoking the skyline surrounding Tiffany’s Manhattan flagship—consider each one a building block. Classic and elevated with pavé diamonds skilfully set by hand in a honeycomb pattern, the jewellery of Tiffany T1 unites clean lines with angular and feminine proportions that come in wide and narrow widths. The ‘T’ motif forms a continuous circle that elegantly wraps itself around the wrist, finger, or neck—aimed to represent the wearer’s infinite strength and power. As the cherry on top, a state-of-the-art bevelled bar with a subtle clasp is integrated seamlessly on the reverse.
In our dour times, the Tiffany & Co. Foundation has pledged a $1m endowment to be allocated across Covid-19 relief funds. The WHO Covid-19 Solidarity Response Fund, overseen by the UN Foundation, will receive $750,000; an additional $250,000 will benefit The New York Community Trust’s NYC Covid-19 Response & Impact Fund.
