After the initial impact of shutdowns on a few industries, the novel coronavirus blighted the careers of many, leaving a much broader swath of unemployment. The speed and scale of job losses are without precedent. According to The Star Online, in just one month, the pandemic has left nearly 4917 Malaysians out of work. The highest of job cuts recorded was on March 16th with 428 cases.
