Stay In With LV

In 1927, an advertisement for Venice Lido conjured up the idea of “the beach of sunshine and pyjamas,” a metaphor that suggested people could feel comfortable spending days relaxing in an outfit today associated with bedtime, convalescence, or moments slobbing out on the couch. Back then, loose silk and linen pyjamas were popular for the beach to provide sun protection and modesty, but also for partying. We are once again living in the period of sunshine and loungewear. As lockdown continues, elasticated waists reign supreme amid beating sun. ⁣⁣

Slouchy can also mean silky, and even sexy. Evoke the spirit of old Venice and the post-war ’20s by swapping tracksuits for tastefully relaxed, joyfully exuberant sleepwear.
