LVMH will use its perfume and cosmetics factories to manufacture free hand sanitizer for France

Writer: Nicole WangNicole Wang

LVMH announced on Sunday that its cosmetic units would manufacture large quantities of hand sanitisers to help stave off a nationwide shortage across France as the coronavirus rapidly spreads. ⁣⁣

The hydroalcoholic gels are to be delivered “free of charge to the health authorities that include the Assistance Publique-Hospitaux de Paris,” added the luxury conglomerate which owns brands like LouisVuitton, Dior, and Givenchy. ⁣⁣

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommends washing your hands to reduce the spread of Covid-19, but if soap and water are unavailable, hand sanitisers with at least 60% alcohol can also be effective. ⁣⁣
