'Inside Chanel'

The ‘Inside Chanel’ short films have reflected on the French maison’s history and its founder’s legacy, covering everything from the significance of the camellia motif to Karl Lagerfeld’s own words about Coco Chanel’s impact on fashion. The latest episode, Chapter 28: Gabriela Chanel and Cinema released today. ⁣



Born just years apart, Chanel and cinema itself revolutionised how fashion was seen and felt. Throughout the 20th century, both became fixtures of modern culture, as Chanel defined the prevalent style of the times and the movies disseminated them on the silver screen. The newest short film uses archival footage and imagery to illustrate the close bond Chanel shared with motion pictures, and how Hollywood likewise impacted her own career.⁣⁣
